During a seemingly endless career that spanned four decades, Ryan struck out 5,714 batters while winning 321 games, and throwing seven no-hitters. Known for a fastball that often reached triple digits, the Ryan Express played for the Astros from 1980 through 1988. During that nine year span, Ryan won 106 games, struck out 1,886 batters, and he threw a no-hitter against the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1981.
