Black Friday Sales in Houston 2012

Thanksgiving is here which means the Black Friday sales will soon be upon us. Hundreds of thousands of shoppers will cram into Ross in hopes of finding a decorative snowman for $1 (or something). Normally docile soccer parents will square off in the electronics section of Wal-Mart over the last $9 DVD player. And babies in shopping carts will be sticky-faced and ignored.

Fortunately, there are plenty of places in Houston that will help satisfy your Black Friday sales urges. Below you’ll find the details to a few. If you know of others, feel free to add them to the list in the comments section here.

Fun Things to Do on Thanksgiving

Best Buy

You just know that this electronics store is going to be off the wall with sales and insane parents looking for Nintendo Wiis. Laptop computers marked at $250 and 40” flat screen TVs for $499 usually does that.

JC Penney

If you’re really looking to get in the Black Friday spirit, hit up JC Penney for their doorbuster bargain at 4 a.m. Yes, that’s 4 a.m. I didn’t even know clocks had a 4 a.m.

Dillard’s

Dillard’s has what most other department stores have stock-wise, however here’s where to head if you want to stock up on quality housewares and things of that nature. They will also be offering sales at up to 60 percent.

Wal-Mart

Depending on your stance, this will either be the most horrible place on Earth to spend Black Friday or the greatest. Bat-crazy deals on just about everything will bring in the masses. Personally, I stay away from this place at all costs, but their sales are tempting enough to get me through the doors. For real, how can you not want to see a laptop that costs $198? Macy’s

Macy’s is another department store that will have sales on just about everything. They will be offering discounts ranging from 20 to 65 percent. Find a store near you here.

Ross

Ross is always a solid spot to find bargains, regardless of the time of the year. But Black Friday things get amped up a bit. You can find upwards of 60 percent off items ranging from designer underwear to golf-themed statues to children’s clothes. Opens at 6 a.m.

Nordstrom

If you’re looking to fill some higher-end Christmas wishes, Nordstrom will be your shopping destination of choice. Seriously, if the store you’re shopping in has its own alterations department, you can expect to pay top dollar for items. Black Friday is the only time I ever go here. Expect 30 to 50 percent off. Opens at 6 a.m.
