Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Scholarship Information: The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo's educational program is a significant part of the Show's mission — benefiting youth and supporting education through exhibitions and presentation. Since the first scholarship given in 1957, the Show has given more than $100 million in educational program support.

Below is a listing of available scholarships from the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.

All students must attend a Texas college or university, but may major in any field of study leading to a bachelor’s degree.
Rodeo Houston Opportunity Scholarship: Rodeo Houston presents these four-year, $12,000 scholarships to Houston-area students from participating public school districts in Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery and Waller counties based on financial need, academics, leadership and community involvement.
The Rodeo Houston annual commitment to this program is $1.2 million.
Metropolitan Scholarship: The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo awards 207 four-year, $12,000 Metropolitan Scholarships to outstanding students graduating from Houston-area public school districts.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, an applicant must meet criteria of citizenship, residence, academic standing, recommendation by his/her high school nominating committee, college/university enrollment plans, demonstration of leadership, character and economic need.
4-H, FFA and FCCLA Scholarships: HLSR grants $12,000 scholarships awarded to 70 Texas 4-H members, 70 Texas FFA members and 10 Family Career and Community Leaders of America members annually.

Recipients are all actively involved in the 4-H, FFA or FCCLA programs and are selected by representatives of the Texas 4-H Foundation, the Texas FFA and FCCLA organizations respectively.
Go Texan Scholarships: 60 Area Go Texan counties are guaranteed a four-year, $12,000 college scholarship for an eligible student from their respective areas.

The applicant must reside in or attend an accredited public high school within the specified Area Go Texan county which he or she seeks to represent as a scholarship recipient, or reside in a contiguous county and attend an accredited public high school within the specified Area Go Texan county.
School Art Scholarship: Fifteen four-year, $12,000 college scholarships will be presented in 2007. Recipients of School Art Scholarships qualify through their participation in the School Art Program, and are selected on academics, leadership and financial need.
