Each year (since 2009, anyway), Sam Houston Race Park has hosted the Weiner Dog Races. The event includes a series of wiener dog races taking place between live horse racing, a pet costume contest open to dogs of all breeds, awards ceremony for winning wiener dogs, prize giveaways and more.
