Clear Lake at a Glance:
Clear Lake Houston, also referred to as Bay Area Houston, is an economically progressive yet picturesque region located midway between Houston and Galveston. According to the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce, this composite community includes Clear Lake City, Clear Lake Shores, El Lago, Kemah, League City, Nassau Bay, Seabrook, Taylor Lake Village, Webster as well as parts of Houston and Pasadena.
Clear Lake on the Map:
Generally speaking, Clear Lake is bordered by Pasadena to the north, Seabrook to the east, Kemah/League City to the south/southeast, and Friendswood to the west.
Clear Lake Business:
A growing metropolis of business and technology, the Clear Lake area has become home to four primary industries: Aerospace, Bioscience/Biotech, Chemicals and Plastic, and Healthcare.
Clear Lake Nightlife:
Clear Lake offers a variety of nightlife activities. For the millennial set, Bikini Beach (1025 W NASA Parkway, Webster) offers rock, hip hop, rap, and old school music.
A Clear Lake mainstay, the Cock-eyed Seagull (1010 E NASA Parkway, Webster) embraces a nautical theme, outdoor observation deck, and rock and blues bands every Thursday through Saturday night. Also, Scout Bar (18307 Egret Bay Blvd) has something for everybody - a multi-venue rock/dance club that offers a wide variety of local, regional, and national artists seven nights a week.
The HOP Niteclub & Diner (17886 Hwy 3), definitely for the Baby Boomer crowd, features DJ music ranging from Buddy Holly to the Beach Boys to the Bee Gees.
In addition to the daytime family amusement adventures, the Kemah Boardwalk seasonally offers evening entertainment. From “Bands on the Boardwalk” during the summer to Kemah's famous “Boo on the Boardwalk” every October, there is plenty to do. Check the website for the calendar of events here.
Clear Lake Restaurants:
Clear Lake also features plenty of eateries for your enjoyment. Bailey's American Grille (2320 NASA Parkway) combines a casual, charming atmosphere with fine American cuisine. Cullen's Upscale American Grille (11500 Space Center Blvd), just south of Genoa-Red Bluff, offers fine dining for the entire family.
If you’d like to hang with the boating crowd and have a great meal at the same time, stop by Seabrook Classic Café (2511-A NASA Parkway, Seabrook). Burgers, fish tacos, and big breakfasts –it’s not fancy, but it’s good.
For Italian fare, you can’t go wrong with Carrabba's Italian Grill (502 W Bay Area Blvd), Frenchie's Italian Restaurant (1041 NASA Parkway), and Perry's Italian Kitchen (1100 Pineloch). For a spectacular view of Clear Lake, enjoy your pasta at Villa Capri on Clear Lake (3713 NASA Parkway).
While in the area, you can soak up the local culture by downing a beer at Boondoggles Brewery (4106 NASA Parkway) or Doc's Upper Deck (18301 Egret Bay Blvd).

Clear Lake Shopping:
From quaint cottages and handmade crafts to the antique stores of Old Seabrook, the region is filled with unique shopping experiences. Don’t miss the charming shops of the Kemah Lighthouse District, Historic League City and La Porte’s Main Street, not to mention Baybrook Mall, which has more than 170 merchants and four department stores. And don't forget to stop by Seabrook's seafood markets for shrimp, crab and fish fresh off the boat!

Clear Lake is served by the Clear Lake Independent School district.
Higher Education:
College of the Mainland, San Jacinto College, Texas Chiropractic College and University of Houston Clear Lake are all located in Clear Lake.
