HISD Magnet Schools

A listing of magnet school programs in the Houston school district

By

The Houston Independent School District's magnet program provides students the opportunity to attend a school other than the one to which they are zoned. These schools offering special interests such as fine arts, technology and foreign language draw children from all over the city creating a highly diverse learning atmosphere. There are currently 113 magnet elementary, middle and high schools that serve over 40,000 of the roughly 200,000 students enrolled in HISD. Due to the high demand of these coveted spots in magnet schools, the process is somewhat extensive. Below is a listing of magnet schools in HISD with Fine Arts and Math and Science concentration.
