The long days of summer are drawing to a close and now is the time to get geared up for all things back to school. HISD and their sponsors are giving Houstonians a head start on back to school preparation by hosting the inaugural Back to School Fest. School supplies, uniforms, immunizations and of course entertainment for the little ones are all things you can expect from this event. Learn the ins and outs of Back to School Fest 2011 below.

When and Where is Back to School Fest?
Saturday, August 6 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
George R. Brown Convention Center

What is Back to School Fest?
BTS Fest is an event hosted by HISD and the City of Houston designed to assist parents and guardians in adequately preparing for the 2011-2012 school year. The event also serves as a means of building excitement for the start of a new school year for both parents and students.

What Resources are Provided?
Free uniforms, school supplies, health screenings and immunizations will be provided at Back to School Fest. To receive these items and services, the student must present proof of enrollment (report card, student ID, etc.) and all items/services are distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

Students can also take part in games, live performances and door prize contests.

What Should We Bring?
Bring proof of enrollment such as a past report card or student ID as well as a current immunization record. Immunizations will not be administered without proof of current shot records.
