The Houston Rodeo concert series is always one of the biggest draws of the events. Each year, the rodeo brings in platinum-selling, award winning musicians known the world over. This year is no different. Here is the concert schedule for 2012, complete with every Houston Rodeo performer, a photo and brief bio. Happy planning.
1. Alabama
Tuesday, February 28: This legendary band will perform for the 11th time at the 2012 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Alabama are two-time Grammy Award-winners and Hollywood Walk of Fame inductees. The band will be the opening act for this season's HLSR.
2. Kid Rock
Wednesday, February 29: Self-proclaimed American Bad Ass, Kid Rock has since traded in his metal-rap tunes for a more southern rock sound. Kid Rock holds five Grammy Awards and a host of other accolades. Kid is perhaps best known for his singles "Cowboy" and "Bawitdaba". This year, he will perform on Value Wednesday at the HLSR. This will be Kid Rock's second HLSR performance.
3. Lady Antebellum
Thursday, March 1: Multiple Grammy Award-winning trio Lady Antebellum will perform for the fourth time at the 2012 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Lady Antebellum is the group behind the album and popular single, "Need You Now" which continues to be aired on Top 40 radio stations throughout the U.S.
4. John Legend
Friday, March 2:R&B crooner John Legend has collected nine Grammy Awards over the course of his career. His debut album, "Get Lifted" went on to sell over 3 million copies worldwide. The actor and singer has shared the stage with the Alicia Keys, Kanye West and many other music mega-stars. Legend's performance will occur on Black Heritage Day at the HLSR.
5. Luke Bryan
Saturday, March 3: Academy Award of Country Music-winner Luke Bryan hails from Georgia and will take the stage of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for the very first time on March 3. Bryan release two No. 1 hits in March of 2009: "Rain is a Good Thing" and "Someone Else Calling You Baby".
6. Big Time Rush
Sunday, Mach 4: Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Logan Henderson and Carlos Pena Jr. are the force behind Big Time Rush - the TV series turned true story. Nickelodeon's "Big Time Rush" began as a sitcom starring 4 young men on their road to boy band stardom. It ended as a true life success story for the quartet. See them perform at Reliant Stadium on March 4.
7. China Anne McClain
Sunday, March 4: With appearances on Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place and Jonas, tChina Anne McClain is a household name amongst Nickelodeon fanatics. The 13-year-old actress and singer has also tackled the big screen with roles in Grown-Ups and Madea's Family Reunion. She will perform her singles "Dynamite" and "Calling All Monsters" at this year's HLSR.
8. Eli Young Band
Monday, March 5: Eli Young Band spent their early years playing to intimate crowds at bars and local Texas venues. 2008's album, "Jet Black and Jealous" gave them their first taste of national recognition and the band has since gone on to land Country Music Television appearances as well as nominations for national country music awards. This will be the band's sophomore performance at the HLSR.
9. Enrique Iglesias
Tuesday, March 6: Enrique Iglesias has sold over 100 million records throughout his career. His trophy case boasts 23 Billboard Latin Music Awards, 16 Billboard Music Awards, 7 World Music Awards, 5 American Music Awards and several others. Iglesias recorded such ht singles as "Hero", "Bailamos", "Tonight (I'm Lovin' You)" and many more. This will be Enrique's fourth HLSR performance.
10. Blake Shelton
Wednesday,March 7: Blake Shelton is not only recognized as an award-winning country singer, but as husband to country musician Miranda Lambert and co-judge of NBC's The Voice. He two-time winner of the award for Best Male Vocalist at the Country Music Association Awards. This is Shelton's second Rodeo Houston performance.
