Picking your own pumpkin for Halloween is a right of passage that most kids partake. Hit up one of these places and have your kids select their very own. As always, if you know of a place that should be added here you can email me.

TGR Exotics – Experience a pumpkin patch on the wild side! This exotic animal farm located hosts a pumpkin patch in the fall with all kinds of family activities each Saturday and Sunday in October. Hay rides and camel rides to boot! Weekend crafts include Scarecrow Making and Pumpkin Patch frames for an extra fee. Admission is $7 per person over age 2. Children 1 year and younger are free. Old Time Christmas Tree Farm – This farm off Spring Cypress Road features a pumpkin patch, giant slide, train, obstacle course, and hayride. The farm is open Saturdays and Sundays in October from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. Tickets are $3 per person. 7632 Spring Cypress Rd. in Spring, 77379.

Nature Discovery Center - The front yard of Bellaire's Nature Discovery Center will be lined with pumpkins on October 15th and 16th. Have your little ones pick their favorite pumpkin and stick around for hayrides, tombstone painting, craft sales and more. NDC is located at 7112 Newcastle in Bellaire, Texas. Hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A variety of churches host pumpkin patches. Some of the recommended ones include First United Methodist Church (Pasadena), Clear Lake United Methodist Church, and St. Peters United Methodist Church (Katy).
