International Quilt Festival
Party it up like a rock star as more than 1,000 quilt-themed displays celebrate the quilting community. If you’re a newb, there will also be classes on site to help you out a bit.

Washington Mutual Thanksgiving Day Parade
This is the nationally televised parade that wiggles through downtown. Santa shows up, as do a ton of floats, marching bands and gobs and gobs of people.

Lighting of the Doves
This is the event that signals the opening of the Ice Rink at the Woodlands Town Center. It runs from November 21 to January 20. There is live music and dance exhibitions.

Uptown Holiday Lighting
More than one million little lights illuminate the Galleria area. Keep your eyes open for the gigantic Christmas tree on the side of the Williams Tower, as well as the fireworks exhibition.
