July Events and Festivals
This is a guide to the Houston events and festivals that take place this month. Add these to your calendar of things to do.
Arthouston
If you're an art enthusiast, Arthouston is a must-see. Essentially, it's a walk you take at night where you get to peruse near forty different art galleries.

BP Power of Freedom Festival
This one here celebrates July 4th. It takes place downtown and features the usual festival festivities, with the notable exception of having a renowned fireworks display. I've never completely understood the relationship between fireworks and freedom, but whatever. This is still fun.
Red, Hot and Blue Festival
I'm always a fan of festivals that you do not have to pay to get into to. This is another July 4th celebration, except this one takes place in the Woodlands.

Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows
More than 12,000 dogs (and their handlers) from around the country will descend upon Houston to participate in the Reliant World Series of Dog Shows. Not sure what else you need to know besides that.

Fourth of July at Miller at Miller Outdoor Theatre
The two notable draws here: a live rendition of Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and a 16 cannon salute. How cool is that?
