Stage Door Inc. Live Theatre: Grease, the Musical
As much as I'd like to say otherwise (on account of appearing macho), I like Grease. It's just a good story with good music. So you can be sure that I'll be forking over the $10 to $15 to see Danny, Sandy, and the rest of the crew at Pasadena's theater house. Show begins at 8 p.m. No late seating.

Houston Museum of Natural Science- The Birth of Christianity: A Jewish Story
The press release bills this as a display of ancient scrolls, objects, and artifacts that allows "the story of two of the world's most influential religions [to] unfold," but the real entertainment will probably come from counting how many tools make really edgy and clever Mel Gibson jokes. The over/under is set at 14 1/2, by the way.

Toyota Center: Houston Rockets vs. Miami Heat
Watch Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming give it to Dwyane Wade, Michael Beasley, and the rest of those Florida fellows as the Houston Rockets take on the Miami Heat. Remember, Ron Artest, of Brawl at the Palace of Auburn Hills fame, is with the Rockets now, so there's a slight, slight chance that you may be punched in the face by a professional athlete at the game. Good luck.

Reliant Center: International Gem and Jewelry Show
Would you like to see a Bratz doll worth $500,000? Well, fair patron, then you should head out to the International Gem and Jewelry, where' you'll be able to find just about every kind of shiny stone you'd ever wanna see. A Gem and Jewelry show is pretty much like a Gun or a Boat show, except with way less people in camouflage. Open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. No strollers or photography admitted.

Contemporary Arts Museum: The Puppet Show Art Exhibit
This is a puppet show for adults - not in that there are explicit puppets or anything, but that these displays explore the imagery of puppets. It's not near as outlandish as it sounds when you consider that you probably used watch a puppet deemed a monster with a cookie fetish.

Jones Hall: Mahler's Fourth Symphony
Per the MFS release, "You'll hear a light touch in its sleigh bells and bird calls, spice in a sinister concertmaster solo and a childlike vision of paradise in the final notes." I'm not sure exactly how "sinister a symphony solo can be, but I'm quite certain these guys are all kinds of talented. The $107 Grand Tier Box seating price says as much. Lesser seats can be had for a quaint $47. Be there by 8 p.m.

Wortham Center: Houston Grand Opera
Though opera isn't exactly my bag, the storyline here features the king and queen of fairies and a possibly psychotropic magic flower. Really, that's reason alone to see it. Show begins at 7:30. Grab tickets via the website below.
