Halloween Parties Around Houston

Halloween parties have to be one of the more fun types of holiday parties to attend (certainly more so than a Flag Day party). Here's a little guide to some Houston Halloween parties in and around town. As always, if you know of a place that should be added here you can email me.

Scream on the Green – It’s a free outdoor Halloween party for Houston at Discovery Green. Costume contests for adults, kids and even dogs! Live music, Living Statues, fortune tellers, face painting, Roller Skating car hop girls, Halloween treats and scary music. October 31, 6 p.m. – 11 p.m., Discovery Green, 1500 McKinney, 77010.

Pirate Dinner Cruise in Kemah – This unique dinner cruise on Halloween features a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater with the ship overtaken by pirates. Enjoy a gourmet dinner buffet and a DJ for dancing from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tickets are $69. Star Fleet Yachts, 280 Grove Road, Kemah, 77565.

Zoo Boo at the Houston Zoo – This kid-friendly Halloween event turns the zoo into a Halloween party. Kids pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch to paint, go trunk-or-treating, participate in a costume parade, and visit the Lost Species Cemetery. Dates run October 17, 18, 24, 25, and 31. Admission is included with zoo ticket.

Classic Horror Flicks – Enjoy a free double feature of classic horror movies on Halloween at Miller Outdoor Theatre. Movies showing are Frankenstein and Bride of Frankenstein beginning at 7:30 p.m. Miller Outdoor Theatre, 100 Concert Drive in Hermann Park, 77030.
