This August we've got just a little bit of everything that makes Houston great; there are concerts, plays, art exhibits, sporting events, and outdoor activities. Know of an event in Houston that isn't listed below but should be? Shoot me an email.

Sunday, August 1
Jones Plaza: Reggae Palooza

Good Life Music Network will host this reggae festival featuring artists Maxi Priest, Dwele and Wendy M. Finally, a reason to dust off that dreadlock wig cap your sister brought you from her trip to Jamaica.

Participating Houston Eateries: Houston Restaurant Week

From August 1st to August 21st, over 100 local fine dining restaurants including Brennan's, Rainbow Lodge and The Grove will be donating a generous portion of their proceeds to the Houston Food Bank. During this time, customers can take advantage of a three-course gourmet dinner for only $35. Everyone wins.

Tuesday, August 3
Miller Outdoor Theater: A Midsummer Night's Dream

When I was in 5th grade, our class presented the watered-down, 20-minute version of this play to our parents. Tuesday night's performance will be much better.
