Houston Halloween 2011 Community Festivals
One of the fondest memories of Halloween I have involves the church festivals that my family and I would attend. Here are a few Halloween parties that you and yours can partake in. As always, if you know of a place that should be added here you can email me.

Howl-O-Ween Fest – Bridgeland is home to a pet-focused Halloween festival with a costumed pooch parade, dancing dogs, costume contest, the 2011 Space City Disc Dog Championship and trick-or-treating for kids, dogs, and more. Saturday, October 29, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Bridgeland community in West Houston

First Fest – Houston's First Baptist Church hosts this fun-filled afternoon of games, rides, costume contests and food annually. Be sure to try your hand at the rock wall and dunking booth. Guests of the church are free of admission while church members are asked to donate $5 per person. Monday, October 31, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., 7401 Katy Freeway.

Harvest Fest – bring the family out to Harvest United Methodist church in Sienna Plantation for trunk-or-treat, games, candy, pumpkin decorating and costume contests. Festivities take place on Saturday, October 29, at 2 p.m. at 9523 N. Fitzgerald Way in Missouri City.

Katy's Rice Harvest Festival - Get an early start to the Halloween season at the Katy Rice Harvest Festival. The event features typical festival goodness (carnival, live entertainment, food booths, etc) and has continued to grow in popularity each year. Adults can nab tickets for $6, children 12 and under are free. October 8-9, Downtown Katy (between Avenues B and C, 2nd and 3rd streets), 77494.

West Houston Church of Christ Fall Festival - An 18-foot slide, bunjee run, dunk tank, laser tag and all the food and treats you can consume are all reasons to check out this big event. Festival begins at 1 p.m. at 17100 West Rd., Houston, TX 77095. Contact 281.856.0001 for more information.
