Houston Halloween Community Festivals

A Handful of Halloween Parties and Events

By , About.com Guide

One of the fondest memories of Halloween I have involves the church festivals that my family and I would attend. Here are a few Halloween parties that you and yours can partake in. As always, if you know of a place that should be added here you can email me.

Howl-O-Ween Fest – Bridgeland is home to a pet-focused Halloween festival with a costumed pooch parade, dancing dogs, costume contest, the 2009 Space City Disc Dog Championship and trick-or-treating for kids, dogs, and more. October 31, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Bridgeland community in West Houston

Trunk or Treat – It’s an evening of trunk-or-treating on October 31! Children collect candy and other treats as they venture from trunk to trunk in the parking lot of Jersey Village Baptist Church. All ages are welcome! 16518, Jersey Drive

Fall Festival – This free festival at West Houston Church of Christ features hayrides, moon walks, giant slides, miniature horses, snakes, free food and candy, and a rock wall. October 31, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at 17100 West Road off Barker Cypress, 77095.

Katy's Rice Harvest Festival - This festival is located in Katy and is celebrated at the beginning of each October. It features typical festival goodness (carnival, live entertainment, food booths, etc) and has continued to grow in popularity each year. Adults can nab tickets for $6, children 12 and under are free. October 10-11, Downtown Katy (between Avenues B and C, 2nd and 3rd streets), 77494.
