Mardi Gras! Galveston
Twelve days of drunken beachy goodness. Yes, “beachy” is a made up word; that’s how much fun this event is. They’ll have events ranging from sporting events to parades to concerts to just general mayhem.

The Chinese Lunar New Year Festival
Festivities for the Chinese Lunar New Year in Houston are held at the Chinese Community Center each February 17. All of the typical fare is there (food, music, dancing, cultural exhibitions, etc). Good stuff.

Cy-Fair Home and Garden Show
Head on over to Cy-Fair to check out their annual Home and Garden Show. You'll find all types of booths and vendors looking to help you build/furnish/protect/accent your dream home.
Houston Auto Show
This, as I came to find out, is very different from a “custom car show.” Here you’ll see 600 or so new cars, including both domestic and international varieties. It’s a fun enough time, particularly for you gear heads out there.
