Earth Day Houston 2011
This is by far the city's largest Earth Day celebration. From 10 am to 4 pm at Discovery Green Park, catch live musical entertainment, shop the Urban Harvest Farmer's Market and take part in hands-on activities that focus on the importance of preservation and conservation. This festival is free to the public and all areas of the park will be accessible. Be sure to visit the Eco Landscape Zone where you'll learn everything there is to know about "green grardening".

Spring Fling Earth Day Celebration
The Hannah and Arthur Ginzbarg Nature Discovery Center will host its annual festival in celebration of Earth Day. The free event will feature loads of activities for the kids including crafts, games and gifts. Parents will enjoy live music, nature walks and the Bellaire Garden Club's annual spring plant sale. This also presents a great volunteer opportunity for your teenagers.

Waste Management Earth Day at Houston Zoo
There is much fun to be had at this party for the planet. An endangered species scavenger hunt, Mother Earth maze and Pin the Tail on the Monkey are just a few of the engaging activities planned for the entire family. Don't leave without adding your special touch to the five-foot-tall reusable mural. The festival is included in the cost of regular zoo admission.

Earth Day GreenUp
For a truly unique and pro-active way to celebrate Earth Day in Houston, head up to the Woodlands Township to participate in the first annual Earth Day GreenUp. Groups, schools, families and individuals will all work together to remove trash from streets, walkways and streams. At the end of the day's work, be rewarded with pizza, bluebonnet photo ops and live music from the Buck Yeager Band.

Earth Day Bash
The Children's Museum of Houston will celebrate Earth Day with fun activities that encourage children and their parents to reduce, reuse and recycle. The Arbor Day Foundation will be providing guests with their very own seedlings to plant at home. And the Houston Audubon Society will be doing live bird presentation. Learn about the earth's chemical makeup at a presentation by the American Chemical Society. And of course be sure to stop by the exciting ongoing exhibits.
