Celebrate the lives of the loved ones you've lost on Day of the Dead at these Houston area locations. As always, if you know of a place that should be added here you can email me.

Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts -- MECA presents its annual Dia de los Muertos: Honoring our Past, Celebrating our Future on October 30 and October 31. Festivities feature food from the Americas, arts and crafts, and a Calavera Fashion Show. Music, dance, theater, and arts present a playfully mock death and reaffirmation of life. Located at 1900 Kane Street in Houston’s Old Sixth Ward, 77007.

Traders Village – Celebrate the Hispanic cultural celebration, Dia de los Muertos, on Sunday, October 23, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Traders Village. Plenty of live music, art, food, and kids’ activities. Festival is free to the public, but parking is $3. Traders Village, 7979 N. Eldridge Parkway, 77041

Lawndale Art Center – This venue celebrates its 22nd Dia de los Muertos, a celebration of the music, art, and practices of Mexico. Lots of events tied to this celebration including an exhibition, Gala/Silent Auction, Musical Ofrenda, Papel Pacado Workshop, Sugar Skull Workshop, and the Family Day Fiesta (Saturday, November ).
