Bayou City Art Festival 2010 at a Glance:
Houston's award-winning outdoor art gallery is a juried fine art event that boasts 300 acclaimed artists in 17 media formats from throughout the U.S. and the world. Ranked the #3 Festival in the U.S. by the readers of AmericanStyle Magazine in 2009, the Bayou City Art Festival features fine art, multicultural music and dance, international food and wine cafes, and interactive art, including the Capital One Bank Creative Zone, where children and families can discover the fun of making art together.

Featured Artist:
Each year, the Bayou City Art Festival has what they call their "Featured Artist." It's a point of pride among artists to be selected. Only the very most creative and inspiring artists are selected. The 2010 pick is Vic Lee of Sante Fe, New Mexico.
Outdoor Art Gallery:
Juried fine art by 300 artists representing 17 media formats, including: clay (decorative and functional), digital (not photography), drawing/pastel, fiber/textiles, furniture (functional), glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media 2-D, mixed media 3-D, painting (acrylic or oil), painting (watercolor), photography (digital or computer manipulated), photography (traditional), printmaking (intaglio, relief and planographic), sculpture (3-D media), and wood.
Artist Demonstrations:
The Houston Arts Alliance presents visual artisans, such as origami paper folders, guitar makers, wood carvers and clay arts/pottery makers for ongoing artist demonstrations.
Capital One Bank Creative Zone:
This is a free interactive area for children and families to explore the fun of making art. Capital One Bank makes a donation to each participating non-profit partner that sponsors an art activity. Previous projects have included Wax Hands, Ornamental Rocks, Dia de los Muertos Masks, and more.

Parking:
There is no public parking at Memorial Park. As such, BCAF is offering a free park and ride shuttle. There are two shuttles available. One will pick you up from Northwest Mall (610 Northloop and 18th; you'll want to park near the PODS). The other is available in the Theater District (you'll have to pay to park there). It runs each day of the festival from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Shuttle passes are available for free inside the mall. Click hereto get more parking details.
