April Events and Festivals
This is a guide to the Houston events and festivals that take place this month. Add these to your calendar of things to do.
Worldfest: Houston Film Festival
Movie buffs speak in glowing terms about Worldfest, Houston's film festival. There are feature films, indie flicks, documentaries, commercials, music videos and just about anything else you'd see on a TV screen.

Live music, race cars and just general family fun -- the Grand Prix of Houston, which is held at Reliant, is a proper family event.

Houston iFest (Houston International Festival)
This is one of my favorite events of the year. It's held downtown and lasts for two weekends. Each year the iFest celebrates the cultures of one country, with other booths providing food, entertainment, shopping and other exhibits.

March of Dimes Walk America
Not one bad thing can be said about the March of Dimes Walk America that takes place in Houston. It's put on to help fundraise for research to help reduce infant deaths and defects. Everyone involved in this is going straight to heaven.

Japan Festival
More than 20,000 a year visit Houston's Japan Festival. It's exactly what it sounds like: a festival celebrating the culture of Japan. Good, clean fun.

Texas Music and Crawfish Festival
Each year in April, Old Town Spring hosts the Texas Crawfish and Music Festival. It lasts for three weekends. There is crawfish to be eaten (50,000 lbs of it, to be exact) and live music to be heard. In 2012, the Texas Crawfish and Music Festival will celebrate its 26th year.
