There are many exciting ways to celebrate Independence Day in Houston. But music lovers will not want to miss out on the Houston Symphony's 4th of July celebration held at the Miller Outdoor Theater.

When:
Monday, July 4, 2011
8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

How Much:
This event is free. However, if you prefer covered seating to lawn seats, you must obtain a free ticket from the Miller Outdoor Theater box office the day of the performance between 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The tickets are distributed on a first come first serve basis and there is a 4 ticket limit per person over age 16.

What:
The Houston Symphony, led by Michael Krajewski, will perform the patriotic medley A Star-Spangled Salutein honor of Independence Day. Astronaut and vocalist Chris Hadfield will also perform his piece that was inspired by his very first shuttle mission. The evening will draw to a close with the Houston Symphony's rendition of the 1812 Overture as well as a spectacular fireworks display. For more information call 281.FREE.FUN.
