Texans love beef. True Houstonians live for steak. Check out the best steakhouses in Houston, where you can order the thickest, juiciest, biggest steak you can find and enjoy with no questions asked.
Morton's Steakhouse located in the Galleria area is probably the most sought after steakhouse in town. Reservations are recommended, and the ambiance is quite nice. You will find the upscale and the well-to-do Houstonians dining and ordering my favorite: The Double Cut Filet Mignon, Sauce Béarnaise.
They claim to be the home of the "serious steak". This steakhouse heaven is located just west of the Galleria area on Richmond Avenue. Order the Cowboy Ribeye,
a huge bone-in version of the USDA Prime cut.
This upscale eatery outshines other Houston steakhouses in the looks department with sleek chairs covered in leather and velvet, a fine-lined exotic copper bar, an open kitchen and glass-enclosed meat locker.
My favorite? The Delmonico Steak.
This 1920s bordello-esque steakhouse is a Downtown Houston gem. Go see the Astros play, then pop into this restaurant for a grand old time. Try the Porterhouse with the Truffled Potatoes.
The Taste of Texas has been serving Certified Angus Beef with superior service since 1977. Their extensive wine list serves over 280 different wines and champagnes. You will also find a bit of Texas flare with excellent cut steaks. Try the fresh-baked bread and their Texas T-Bone.
