Houston Ballet 2007-2008 Schedule

The Merry Widow : September 6 - 16

The ballet was created for the Australian Ballet by Sir Robert Helpmann (a principal ballet dancer and choreographer), who obtained permission from the heirs of the composer and the librettists (Viktor Léon and Leo Stein), by special arrangement with Glocken Verlag Ltd. of London.

The scenario and staging were designed by Helpmann, the choreography by Ronald Hynd, the orchestration by John Lanchbery (who was then the musical director of the Australian Ballet) and his colleague Alan Abbot. The designer was Desmond Heeley.
The Four Seasons : September 20 - 30

A strong period piece with outstanding aesthetics bringing to life Vivaldi's Four Seasons.
The Nutcraker: November 23 - December 29

The Houston Ballet brings back their yearly season classic, enjoyed by children and adults alike.
Jubilee of Dance: A Tribute to Lauren Anderson: November 30

Serenade, Swan Song: February 21 - March 2, 2008

Expect Serenade by George Balanchine to be a classic and refined ballet with exquisite costumes. Swan Song is an upbeat, lively piece entertaining to all senses.
Cinderella: March 6 - 15, 2008

Expect this full-length masterpiece, created a decade ago for the Australian Ballet, to put a punch in tradition. Set to the familiar Serge Prokofiev score, with sets and costumes by the late Kristian Fredrikson.
Falling: May 22- June 1, 2008

La Sylphide, A Doll's House : June 5 - 15, 2008

Expect strong, rebellious acting in A Doll's House.
