Wednesday September 16, 2009

With flu season right around the corner, and lots of experts saying that Swine Flu will make a big time comeback, I figured I'd pass along some information I had sent to me about the new Swine Flu Symptoms Checker.

Basically, the Swine Flu Symptoms Checker is a - surprise - Swine Flu symptoms checker that can help with self-diagnosis. (Apparently, should you think you have Swine Flu, you're not supposed to go the hospital, which is pretty much the opposite of how I had assumed hospitals worked.)

After the jump, you'll find a list of possible Swine Flu symptoms. Remember, these should be used as a guide more than anything else. If you seriously think you have Swine Flu, you should definitely consult with Wikipedia. Or a doctor. One of those should help.

Cough
Headache

Muscle Ache or Pain

I am filling in for someone at the Police Department who went home diagnosed with swine flu. Her husband has it too. I sure hope that her children don’t get it too. Heck, I hope I sanitized enough here working in her area.

@Breaunna: Indeed, that does suck.

@Madison: That sucks worse.

@Jennifer: I’m right there with you. Someone at my office was diagnosed with Swine Flu. I cleaned everything like mad. I’m talking, I used a ton of sanitizer. If there was a fire station, and in that was a fire truck that had a hose on it that shot hand sanitizer, it wouldn’t have used as much as I did. Good luck.

(7) not_that_concerned says:

Really, if you guys will look at the symptoms, they are the same as the regular flu. You cannot diagnose yourselves with the N1H1 strain by reading some symptoms off of a web page. If you are concerned that you have it, contact your doctor. Those people that look up symptoms online only make the panic worse because, of course, it’s getting cold and a lot of us are going to get these symptoms, just from the weather change. It doesn’t mean you are dying.
