"Who Wants to be a Millionaire" in Houston

Wednesday July 1, 2009
Would you like to be a millionaire? Do you shout curse words at the TV when the show is on because a contestant foolishly uses their 50-50 lifeline before the $32,000 plateau? Lucky you, because Meredith et. al will be in Houston Wednesday, July 1st holding auditions for Millionaire. Get all the details you need after the jump.

A blurb from the Millionaire site:

"Auditions will take place at the Pavilion Royale close to I-45 in Houston. Sessions will begin at 7am and the last session will begin at 11am. There are no sign-ups for this audition, and audition space is limited. Admission to the audition session(s) is not guaranteed to everyone who arrives at the audition site.

The audition consists of a timed written test, and if you pass the test a personal interview with a representative of the show. The test will be given in the morning sessions between 7am and 11am. If you receive a passing score, you will be given a specific time to return in the afternoon for your interview. YOU MUST COMPLETE BOTH THE TEST AND THE INTERVIEW TO BE CONSIDERED FOR SELECTION."

Good luck, sirs and ma'ams.

The $32,000 plateau was scaled back to $25,000 in 2004. And Meredith doesn’t actually come to the auditions.

2004? I suppose that is about the time I stopped watching it. :)

Oh, and the 50/50 has been replaced by the “Double Dip”. :)

What the h, man?! Do they at least still call it Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

MarleysGh0st, you are now the official Houston.about.com Who Wants to be a Millionaire? correspondent. Congratulations. It is a great honor, indeed.

Thank you, Shea! I’m just a frustrated wannabe contestant, who reads stories about the show, wherever Google News search helps me find them.

The show title doesn’t include the question mark, BTW. ;)
