LeBron James and The World's Greatest Bar-B-Que
Two things that are wholly unrelated and yet equally fantastic are happening today for Houstonians:
1. The surging Rockets, winners of four straight, play host to King James and the mighty Cavaliers tonight. The Cavs are one of three teams that everyone is picking to win the title (the Rockets are not one of the other two, by the way), so if Yao and the fellas can squeeze out a victory against them it will be huge. Get tickets here.
2. The World's Championship Bar-B-Que contest tips off today, marking three days of brisket sandwiches and secret rib sauces and signaling the arrival of this year's Rodeo.
Honestly, I'm not sure which I'm more excited for. On the one hand, you've got the beloved and suddenly scrappy and full-of-life Rockets taking on the NBA's uberstar, but on the other hand, it's the best bar-b-que IN. THE. WORLD. I don't know. Either way, today is a good day to be a Houstonian.
