Dinosaurs, Jazz Musicians and Lots and Lots of Cats
It's Friday, folks, which means there are a bunch of activities going on in the next few days. And if the Celine Dion concert, Cheech and Chong show, and Montage Performance Circus listed on the Events Calendar aren’t what you’re into, might I suggest a few alternatives for the weekend?
For a little more kid-friendly action, head over to the Museum of Natural Science for the Dinosaur CSI exhibit. It features Leonardo, the “most perfectly fossilized plant-eating dinosaur ever discovered; with almost all of his skin still intact.” Kids (and parents) usually get a kick out of this one.
Saturday night you can swing by McGonigel’s (2425 Norfolk) for a performance by Jazz singer Kristine Mills. Cover is a reasonable $10. Show is from 8-10.
Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the George R. Brown Convention Center is hosting the 57th Annual Charity Cat Show. (I'm 56 years late in hearing about this, it would appear.) And while this is what many in NFL circles consider to be the best Sunday of the year, chances are your interest in one excludes your interest in the other.
Have a good weekend.
