Sad To Say: Goodbye Houston Comets

Houston continues its ongoing mission to rid itself of anything with a storied past, apparently: Though not yet evidenced on their website, numerous outlets are reporting that the Houston Comets, four-time WNBA champions, are being shut down.

There have been troubles with the Comets for the past few months but no one, not even noted WNBA antis such as myself, saw this happening so quickly. Players were told Monday that their team was to be absolved and actions to subside next week. It's a terrible thing.

Somehow, the omniscient power/beacon of nobility, Wikipedia, has already updated their Comets page to reflect the travesty.
